CorporateSEM.com

My good friend and colleague, Steve Wiideman announced the launch of  CorporateSEM.com, a search engine marketing service based in Calabasas, California. I don’t have to tell you how big of a role both SEO and SEM play in every sized business’s online presence.

From the announcement:

“The value proposition isn’t simply having the best resources on the project and delivering on time, it’s having an open communication channel and providing a service as though we were a partner, not a vendor. Performance results and communication play a vital role in our success and client relationships.” says Wiideman.

Microsoft to buy FAST…

The WSJ reported that Microsoft is buying  FAST (subject to shareholder approval) in a deal reportedly worth $1.2 billion. FAST currently offers “enterprise search” products, a Pay Per Click platform, and mobile search functions. In short, FAST is the search company’s search provider. Endeca, Autonomy are just some that compete with FAST .

From the Microsoft press release:

“Enterprise search is becoming an indispensable tool to businesses of all sizes, helping people find, use and share critical business information quickly,” said Jeff Raikes, president of the Microsoft Business Division. “Until now organizations have been forced to choose between powerful, high-end search technologies or more mainstream, infrastructure solutions. The combination of Microsoft and FAST gives customers a new choice: a single vendor with solutions that span the full range of customer needs.”

FAST clients include YellowPages.com, Virgilio, Washington Post, Financial Times, CareerBuilder, and InfoSpace (acquired by Motricity) mobile division.

Microsoft interest: PPC advertising, search, Mobile, and maybe some new B2B relations.
